b. Metode Diskusi
Metode diskusi adalah suatu cara mengelola pembelajaran dengan penyajian materi melalui pemecahan masalah, atau analisis sistem produk teknologi yang pemecahannya sangat terbuka. Suatu diskusi dinilai menunjang keaktifan siswa bila diskusi itu melibatkan semua anggota diskusi dan menghasilkan suatu pemecahan masalah.
Jika metoda ini dikelola dengan baik, antusiasme siswa untuk terlibat dalam forum ini sangat tinggi. Tata caranya adalah sebagai berikut: harus ada pimpinan diskusi, topik yang menjadi bahan diskusi harus jelas dan menarik, peserta diskusi dapat menerima dan memberi, dan suasana diskusi tanpa tekanan.
c. Metode Pemberian Tugas
Metode pemberian tugas adalah cara mengajar atau penyajian materi melalui penugasan siswa untuk melakukan suatu pekerjaan. Pemberian tugas dapat secara individual atau kelompok. Pemberian tugas untuk setiap siswa atau kelompok dapat sama dan dapat pula berbeda.
Agar pemberian tugas dapat menunjang keberhasilan proses pembelajaran, maka: 1) tugas harus bisa dikerjakan oleh siswa atau kelompok siswa, 2) hasil dari kegiatan ini dapat ditindaklanjuti dengan presentasi oleh siswa dari satu kelompok dan ditanggapi oleh siswa dari kelompok yang lain atau oleh guru yang bersangkutan, serta 3) di akhir kegiatan ada kesimpulan yang didapat.
d. Metode Eksperimen
Metode eksperimen adalah suatu cara pengelolaan pembelajaran di mana siswa melakukan aktivitas percobaan dengan mengalami dan membuktikan sendiri suatu yang dipelajarinya. Dalam metode ini siswa diberi kesempatan untuk mengalami sendiri atau melakukan sendiri dengan mengikuti suatu proses, mengamati suatu obyek, menganalisis, membuktikan dan menarik kesimpulan sendiri tentang obyek yang dipelajarinya. Di dalam TIK, percobaan banyak dilakukan pada pendekatan pembelajaran analisis sistem terhadap produk teknik atau bahan.
Percobaan dapat dilakukan melalui kegiatan individual atau kelompok. Hal ini tergantung dari tujuan dan makna percobaan atau jumlah alat yang tersedia. Percobaan ini dapat dilakukan dengan demonstrasi, bila alat yang tersedia hanya satu atau dua perangkat saja.
e. Metode Demonstrasi
Metode demonstrasi adalah cara pengelolaan pembelajaran dengan memperagakan atau mempertunjukkan kepada siswa suatu proses, situasi, benda, atau cara kerja suatu produk teknologi yang sedang dipelajari. Demontrasi dapat dilakukan dengan menunjukkan benda baik yang sebenarnya, model, maupun tiruannya dan disertai dengan penjelasan lisan.
Demonstrasi akan menjadi aktif jika dilakukan dengan baik oleh guru dan selanjutnya dilakukan oleh siswa. Metoda ini dapat dilakukan untuk kegiatan yang alatnya terbatas tetapi akan dilakukan terus-menerus dan berulang-ulang oleh siswa.
f. Metode Tutorial/Bimbingan
Metode tutorial adalah suatu proses pengelolaan pembelajaran yang dilakukan melalui proses bimbingan yang diberikan/dilakukan oleh guru kepada siswa baik secara perorangan atau kelompok kecil siswa. Disamping metoda yang lain, dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Teknologi Dasar, metoda ini banyak sekali digunakan, khususnya pada saat siswa sudah terlibat dalam kerja kelompok.
Peran guru sebagi fasilitator, moderator, motivator dan pembimbing sangat dibutuhkan oleh siswa untuk mendampingi mereka membahas dan menyelesaikan tugas-tugasnya
Penyelenggaraan metoda tutorial dapat dilakukan seperti contoh berikut ini:
- Misalkan sebuah kelas dalam bahan ajar Pengerjaan Kayu 2, jam pelajaran pertama digunakan dalam bentuk kegiatan klasikal untuk menjelaskan secara umum tentang teori dan prinsip.
- Kemudian para siswa dibagi menjadi empat kelompok untuk membahas pokok bahasan yang berbeda, selanjutnya dilakukan rotasi antar kelompok.
- Sementara para siswa mempelajari maupun mengerjakan tugas-tugas, guru berkeliling diantara para siswa, mendengar, menjelaskan teori, dan membimbing mereka untuk memecahkan problemanya.
- Dengan bantuan guru, para siswa memperoleh kebiasaan tentang bagaimana mencari informasi yang diperlukan, belajar sendiri dan berfikir sendiri.
Perhatian guru dapat diberikan lebih intensif kepada siswa yang sedang mengoperasikan alat-alat yang belum biasa digunakan.
